Bitumen primer is used in conjunction with a Butyl Sealing Strip. After ensuring that the joint faces are clean and dry and any loose material is removed, brush the Primer onto both sides of the joint. (Avoid the caulking groove present on some culverts). Allow 10 to 20 minutes to dry. Non-disposable brushes can be cleaned in White spirit.
